The U.S. Naval Institute is maintaining and preserving the former Naval Historical Foundation website so readers and former NHF members can still access past issues of Pull Together and other content. NHF has decommissioned and is no longer accepting new members or donations. NHF members are being converted to members of the Naval Institute. National Museum of the United States Navy

National Museum of the United States Navy

Devoted to the display of naval artifacts, models, documents and fine art, the National Museum of the United States Navy at Washington Navy Yard chronicles the history of the United States Navy from the American Revolution through present conflicts. Interactive exhibits commemorate our Navy’s wartime heroes and battles as well as peacetime contributions in exploration, diplomacy, navigation and humanitarian service.

One of the Naval Historical Foundation’s major functions is to support the National Museum of the United States Navy. We manage fundraising campaigns to construct new exhibits, such as our ongoing campaign to construct the new Cold War Gallery. We also support events and educational programs at the Museum. In 2011 we began sponsoring teacher fellowships under the STEM (Science, Technology, Education, and Math) initiative, one of the high priorities for the Office of Naval Research. The Naval Historical Foundation oversees management of the Navy Museum Store, with the ability to purchase keepsakes and memorabilia online. We also manage rentals at the Navy Museum for special events and ceremonies.
