Details: Save the Date for the 9th Maritime Heritage Conference. Historic Ships in Baltimore, home port of 1854 Sloop of War CONSTELLATION, submarine TORSK, Coast Guard Cutter TANEY, Lightship CHESAPEAKE, and Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, is pleased to host the 9th Maritime Heritage Conference within the City's historic Inner Harbor. Held every three years, this conference provides an opportunity for members of local, national, and international maritime heritage and preservation organizations to meet, exchange ideas about issues affecting the broader community, and have a good time while doing so! In the past, many organizations have held their annual meeting in conjunction with the conference and the conference planning team will work to coordinate these meetings with the overall program. The Historic Naval Ships Association has already agreed to have the 2010 Annual Meeting at the conference. The Naval Historical Foundation has agreed to develop the program. Dr. Dave Winkler, aided by former Director of Naval History, Dr. William Dudley, and noted author, Captain Andrew Jampoler, USN (Ret.), will be promulgating a call for papers later this summer. The National Maritime Historical Society has agreed to host the official conference website for this and future maritime conferences. Visit www.seahistory.org for periodic updates.
