“The Hungnam Evacuation and the Ship of Miracles in the Korean War” with Rear Admiral J Robert Lunney, NYNM (Ret)

Rear Admiral J. Robert Lunney NYNM (Ret.) will focus on the miraculous rescue, not generally known to the public, that he participated in while serving on board the S.S. Meredith Victory. In December 1950, aboard an American cargo ship with room for only 12 passengers, the crew performed an extraordinary rescue of 14,000 Korean men, women, and children from the hands of the rapidly-approaching Chinese army in the city of Hungnam.
