70th Battle of Midway Commemoration Dinner

Marking the 70th anniversary of the US victory in the epic battle of Midway, decisive turning point in the Pacific campaign of World War II, the Naval Historical Foundation joins 7 other Navy-related nonprofits for the tenth consecutive Midway commemorative dinner. With at least 5 Midway veterans and their family members present, and acknowledging this year as the kickoff of the US Navy’s War of 1812 bicentennial celebration, keynote speaker Dr. Craig Symonds will reflect on “Frigates, Dive Bombers and Official Reports: Two Tales of Accountability.”  CNO Admiral Jonathan Greenert will address the guests, and a special tribute will be offered in memory of Vice Admiral Bill Houser, long-time champion of the commemoration of this pivotal battle.

Cost to attend is $60 per person
Reception Begins 1800 Dinner at 1900

Another event is being planned to commemorate the Battle of Midway. Naval District Washington will host a wreath laying ceremony at the U.S. Navy Memorial on Monday, 4 June.
