Foundation Historian Contributes to "Voices of War" Book

"Voices of War" is a newly published book containing oral histories of individuals who participated in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. The wide range of recollections spanning a number of wars and the homefront, also features an interview conducted by NHF historian Dave Winkler with U.S. Congressman Ed Schrock. In the interview, Schrock discusses his tour as a public affairs officer during the Vietnam War and his recollections, among many vivid memories, of dealing with coffins of servicemen killed in action. As a Library of Congress Veterans History Project Partner, The Foundation, through Dr. Winkler's efforts, has conducted a number of Capitol Hill interviews of Senators and Representatives who are Navy veterans.
