Naval History Videos Play Important Role in Navy Training
18 November 2004
Capt Creekman

For the third year in a row, the Naval Historical Foundation, working with the historians at the Naval Historical Center and the highly innovative Empire Video, Inc., have provided to the Navy a series of five minute video segments highlighting important Navy events and people. Known as the "Heritage Mini-Series," these videos have been strongly endorsed by the Commander of the Naval Education and Training Command and the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. Distributed as part of the Navy's annual General Military Training Program and shown at a variety of training sites at the Great Lakes, IL Recruit Training Center, the Heritage Mini-Series videos provide an outstanding way for Sailors to connect to their rich heritage, and to reflect on the honor, courage and commitment of those Sailors that preceded them in defense of America. The series is expected to continue for several more years, and sponsors, ranging from corporations, to Navy support organizations, to patriotic individuals, are actively being sought for new segments to tell this compelling story.
